We are one month away from the total solar eclipse! Many parts of New York state will be in the eclipse’s path of totality on April 8, which means that those areas will experience a total solar eclipse, if skies are clear.
Schools, libraries, and cultural institutions across the state are busy planning many different eclipse-related events to engage learners of all ages in this rare phenomenon. The NYS Library's Eclipse Resources page includes virtual trainings, downloadable booklets, games, and activity and program ideas.
The Eclipse Resources page also contains information on how to view an eclipse safely and where to obtain approved eclipse glasses before the big event.
Don’t forget to check with your local public library to see what they have planned for the eclipse, and happy viewing!
