The Cornell Lab of Ornithology is a nonprofit organization which is involved in studying and protecting birds. The website includes birding guides, bird cams and videos, bird biology, frequently asked questions, general articles, and issues of Living Bird Magazine.

Database includes information about plants, vertebrate animals, invertebrate animals and ecological units. Records include scientific and common names, conservation status, distribution maps, images for some species, life histories, conservation needs and more.

An ambitious effort by concerned scientists and physicians to make scientific discoveries accessible to all. This site currently houses five journals on biological and medical topics which are completely available to the public free of charge.

Access to free news articles on current scientific research. "Non-news" resources such as literature search tools, directories, and utilities (reference sources, protocols) are also included.
