This guide provides an overview of digital equity initiatives at the state level, as well as resources and materials to support digital equity practitioners across New York.

Digital Equity Task Force Subcommittees

The Digital Equity Task Force is organized into five subcommittees that are focused on key digital equity outcomes as defined by the Digital Equity Planning Grant NOFO: Education, Healthcare, Workforce and Economic Development, Civic and Social Engagement, and Accessibility of Government Services. Representatives from over a dozen State Agencies are currently working with community leaders to launch a series of public meetings for all five Task Force Subcommittees between May-August 2023.

Accessibility of Government Services Subcommittee

The Digital Equity Task Force's Accessibility of Government Services Subcommittee held a Town Hall on Thursday, August 3. The Subcommittee is co-chaired by Jackie Hayes of the Developmental Disabilities Planning Council (DDPC), Anna DeRosa of the DDPC, Laurie Wheelock of the Public Utility Law Project (PULP), and Mike Rogers of the Self-Advocacy Association of New York State (SANYS).

Civic and Social Engagement Subcommittee

The Digital Equity Task Force's Civic and Social Engagement Subcommittee held a Town Hall on Monday, July 31. The Subcommittee is co-chaired by Camilla Campisi of the Office for New Americans, Lauren Moore of the New York State Library, Natalie Henderson of Cell-Ed, Dr. Anael Alston of My Brother's Keeper, and Jenny Munoz of the Office for New Americans.

Health Subcommittee

The Digital Equity Task Force's Health Subcommittee held a Town Hall on Thursday, July 13. The Health Subcommittee is co-chaired by Crystal Collette from the New York State Office of the Aging, Andrew Lebwohl of the New York State Department of Health, Becky Preve of the Association on Aging in New York, Laura Palmer of the Healthcare Association of New York State, Ann Cunningham of Oasis Rochester, and Elana Kieffer of the New York Academy of Medicine.

Workforce Development Subcommittee

The Digital Equity Task Force's Workforce Development Subcommittee held a Town Hall on Thursday, June 29. The Subcommittee is co-chaired by Orville Abrahams of the New York State Department of Labor, Rachel Sheridan of CanCode Communities, and Diana Caba of the Hispanic Federation.

Education Subcommittee

The Digital Equity Task Force's Education Subcommittee held a Town Hall on Wednesday, May 31. The Subcommittee is co-chaired by Lauren Moore of the New York State Library, Paul Cardettino of the New York State Education Department, Monique Tate of CommunityTechNY, and Dale Breault of Franklin-Essex-Hamilton BOCES.
