For New York State Office of Cultural Education:

• Provide advance marketing for technical assistance services to historical and genealogical societies, museums, and cultural heritage sites, in addition to libraries and archives.
• Message the New York State Museum, Library, and Archives as reciprocal organizations, not just destinations.
• Frame and guide the work through clear, universal, and practical systems and approaches to DEI in the cultural heritage sector.
• New York State Museum, Library, and Archives continue to work collaboratively to produce more support for the cultural sector in New York.

For professionals and volunteers in the cultural heritage community:

• Effective DEI work will/must/should cut across professional boundaries.
• Models for change in one profession can be adapted to other contexts.
• Get involved in existing professional networks and center DEI work in those opportunities.
• Build capacity based on your current engagement with diversity, equity, inclusion, accessibility, antiracism, and justice.
